(RTTNews) - Monday evening, Choice Hotels International, Inc., ( | | | ) announced third quarter results, reporting a net income that increased to $46.36 million or $0.

69 per share, compared to $32.47 million or $0.48 per share in the previous year quarter.

Excluding certain items, adjusted earnings per share for the third quarter increased 16% to $0.50, compared to $0.43 for the third quarter 2005.

Seven analysts polled by First Call/Thomson Financial expected the company to earn $0.46 per share for the third quarter. Total revenues for the quarter increased to $150.

99 million from $41.95 million in the year ago quarter. Analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $162.

60 million for the third quarter. Looking ahead, the company expects fourth quarter earnings per share to be $0.34.

The company expects full year 2006 adjusted earnings per share of $1.47, which excludes the effect of the reversal of provisions for certain income tax contingencies and the loss on extinguishment of debt described below.
