US authorities present charge to Brian White detained on suspicion of killing a Soviet human rights activist, Mikhail Makarenko, 75.
The accident occurred at a rest stop on New Jersey Turnpike in the night of March 15. As preliminary investigation has shown, White, who was working as a DJ, approached Makarenko to sell him a Christian music CD with his own songs, Newsru informs.
When Makarenko refused, White became furious. He struck Makarenko on the head with a landscaping rock several times and then escaped.
Police pursued him for about an hour.
Police officers managed to catch him and subdue.
White failed to explain why he had killed the elderly man. Police suspect that the murderer was mentally abnormal.
