She's already two albums deep, but Joss Stone has picked her forthcoming for an official introduction to the world. The British soul singer, just 16 years old when she released The Soul Sessions in 2003, has titled her new album Introducing Joss Stones, which hits stores March 20.
The album, Stone's first in which she wrote or cowrote all of the lyrics, was produced by Raphael Saadiq. It features an appearance from Common and a rare rap verse from . "It's the first album that is truly me," Stone, 19, said in a statement.
"These are my words, and this is who I am as an artist." Following a March 20 performance on NBC's The Today Show, the trek will kick off April 27 in Mashantucket, Connecticut and includes stops at the New Orleans Jazz Heritage Festival and the Central Park Summerstage in NYC. The tour concludes June 13 at the Filene Center in Vienna, Virginia.
Introducing is the follow-up to 2004's Mind, Body Soul, which debuted at No. 11 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 1.2 million copies in the US, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
