British band Genesis will be reborn this fall as members of the '70s-'80s supergroup get together for their first North American tour in 15 years, kicking off in Toronto.
Original singer Peter Gabriel won't be taking part, due to previous commitments to a solo project, but the man who replaced him on vocals, drummer Phil Collins, will, along with bandmates Mike Rutherford, 56, and Tony Banks, 56.
The Turn it on Again tour makes its North American debut in Hogtown on Sept.

7 at BMO Field, followed a week later with a Sept. 14 show in Montreal.
Collins, who left the band to embark on his own solo career, said the 13-show run will feature fan favourites from the group, but no solo stuff.

"There's a lot of people that I've met...

people that kind of said (that a tour is) great, because I was too young to see you the first time," Collins said at a press conference announcing the tour.
"They've heard it through their families - moms and dads played it in the house or the kids grow up with it - but they never saw us."
Collins insists the reunion tour isn't about making money.

"We're still great friends, you know, and we've been great friends since I left the band ...

. and we've talked about it all the time every time we've met to do something and now is as good a time as (any)," he said.
Genesis was originally founded in the 1960s by Gabriel, Rutherford, Banks, and Anthony Phillips.

When Gabriel left the group in 1975, Collins took over as the lead singer.
Tickets for the Montreal concert go on sale Saturday, while tickets for Toronto go on sale Monday.
