and Van Halen into their Hall Of Fame on Monday. The event, which was broadcast live on VH1 Classic and AOL, included a performance by R.E.

M. is known for hits such as "Everybody Hurts" and "Losing My Religion."
Van Halen's second lead singer, Sammy Hager, and ex-member Michael Anthony, were the only ones to appear at the ceremony, while guitarist Eddie Van Halen is currently in rehab.

Rapper Jay-Z, who read an induction speech, congratulated the artists and said, "Thirty years later rappers have become rock stars, movie stars, leaders, educators, philanthropists, even CEOs. None of this would have been possible without the work of these men.
"
