My Chemical Romance
The future looks bright for My Chemical Romance, who plan on touring throughout 2007 in support of The Black Parade. Guitarist Frank Toro tells Billboard that the band plans on visiting China, South America and "a lot of places My Chemical Romance hasn't played a show yet." Toro revealed that the band is filming most of their current tour for a likely live DVD down the road.
There have also been rumors of a film version of The Black Parade, but Toro cautions, "We're very conscious of spreading ourselves too thin. If the opportunity does come about where we can really do it the right way, it's something we would look into. But right now we're concentrating on the touring side.
" MCR is also rumored to be a part of Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution tour this summer.
Jamie Foxx and Mary J. Blige were among the big winners at Saturday's 21st annual Soul Train Music Awards.
Foxx won Best Male Album for Unpredictable, while Blige won Best Female Album for The Breakthrough. Jennifer Hudson was honored with the Sammy Davis Jr. Award for Entertainer of the Year.
Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds was given the Stevie Wonder Award for Outstanding Career Achievement in Songwriting. John Legend, Gnarls Barkley, Jay-Z and Ne-Yo were also among the winners. Snoop Dogg will release a new mixtape type of album with The Big Squeeze, due April 24 from Koch/Doggy Style Records.
The album features up-and-coming West Coast acts Westurn Union (Damani, Soopafly and Bad Lucc), The Warzone, Terrace Martin and Azure. Snoop produced 16 of the tracks and is featured on 12 of them. "I basically wanted to produce these tracks from up and coming West Coast acts," says the D-O-double G.
"I see a new West Coast and it's right here, and it's brought to you by the King of the West Coast." The first single, "Hat 2 Tha Bacc" by Westurn Union, will be serviced to radio shortly.
R B group Pretty Ricky will hit the road this spring on the Late Night Special Tour, presented by BET.
The Florida-based quartet promises to also stay and sign autographs for each and every fan after every concert. The tour begins in Clearwater, FL on March 21 and winds up in Houston on May 12. With the Heaven And Hell tour (featuring Ronnie James Dio and members of Black Sabbath) kicking off in Canada, the setlist that the band is playing has been revealed.
The group is unleashing hits like "The Mob Rules," "Children Of The Sea," "Heaven And Hell" and "Neon Nights," as well as playing the new tracks "Ear In The Wall" and "The Devil Cried." Heaven And Hell will tour the U.S.
in April and May with Megadeth and Machine Head opening.
Just how did emo-rock act Say Anything get Henry Winkler into the video for their new single, "Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too"? It turns out the Fonz and singer Max Bemis go way back.
"He's a very good family friend," Bemis told Billboard.com. "We were going to have a hip-hop-style cameo, so we thought maybe Clive Davis to represent.
But then we decided to make it more random, and Henry was the first person to come to mind. He's always been really supportive of my career." While Say Anything are still riding the success of their first record, which was originally released back in 2004, the band is working towards their sophomore effort, tentatively titled In Defense Of The Genre.
The Arctic Monkeys will return to North America this spring in support of their second record, Favourite Worst Nightmare. The British band kick off the trek at the Coachella festival on April 27, and wind it up in Orlando on May 20. Youthful rockers Be Your Own Pet will open all dates.
Favourite Worst Nightmare will be out on April 24.

A new best-of disc and a DVD are on the way to honor the tenth anniversary of the death of singer/songwriter Jeff Buckley.
So Real: Songs From Jeff Buckley will be out on May 22, according to Billboard, as will a DVD release of the documentary Amazing Grace.
