As next Tuesday draws closer when media mogul Sharon Osbourne will sit down with husband and metal Godfather Ozzy Osbourne to announce the 2007 installment of heavy music’s longest running festival, OZZFEST, people are wondering what will be revealed. Rumors are abound that the show will transform into an indoor arena-esque format, with considerably less bands on the bill. Reaching back to 2001’s multi-leg format, the bill could feature a revolving door of artists who will pick up at different points along the shortened trek.
With rumored headliners ALICE IN CHAINS seemingly squared away, other names that have had attention focused on them include:
–An all-star lineup of Vinnie Paul plus Mudayne duo Chad Gray/Greg Tribbet and Nothingface pair Tom Maxwell/Jerry Montano could be a direct shoe in.
After supporting Slayer and firing out a crushing new disc, some would think they’re a shoe-in for a spot.
!
Corgan!) reunion be worth your hard earned dollars?
Will we see Century Media and other indie labels getting some of their developing artists onto the bill? Perhaps on some stops…
You could potentially see `07 being the final year for OZZY OSBOURNE. With the summer performances acting as the perfect segue into a BLACK SABBATH reunion which will cap off a fine career for one of heavy metal’s most beloved stars, let s just hope it s not a poor man s Gigantour.

You can follow any responses to this entry through the feed. they should just cancel ozzfe$t for good.
So they are changing it from Ozzfest to a show regular show with Ozzy headlining and acting as if its still a festival.
Great idea.
Ok Sounds Of The Underground, time to pick up the slack.
Haha, if they shrink the band list it s only to give the Unholy Alliance tour a run for it s money, because Ozzfest bombed this year.
Now it s becoming Ozz minus the fest. Unholy Alliance is taking over and like said above: time for Sounds to take a leap with the leftover bands.
AIC would be fine choice, i love Down but i would rather see them do there own tour, im stil waiting to here about Sounds of The Underground 07
First off the fest has never bombed.
They always make money so there would be no reason to stop doing it.
Please dont put that lump of shit known as RAGE on.
Oh man, billy corgan would not take any of sharons shit.
if they put HINDER on Ozzfest, I will kill myself right after I kill Sharon and Hinder
It s going to be interesting to see how this will turn out. But first, I d like to say that the indoor arena venue is just silly. Ozzfest has always been outdoors.
Fun time in the sun. Plus, that s what makes the painted titties useful. ![]()
I don t think Anthrax will be on the tour, cause they need to get a new lead singer first.
Slipknot on hold, but maybe Stone Sour will be on it. I highly doubt Metallica would ever do it. Megadeth probably won t cause of Gigantour.
I m really not happy about AIC. Don t get me wrong, I love AIC but without Layne it s not the same.
If there is HELLYEAH - you know you will see Bloodsimple - they are very close, same mgmt - maybe even same tour materials
BLOODSIMPLE FOR OZZFEST 07!
!! I also like Shadows Fall here and Chimaira
I don t know, this Ozzfest has me guessing.
For the past couple of year, I have been able to narrow down at least 50% of the acts that will appear on stage. This year, I have no idea. I don t want to get my hopes up for Hellyeah!
, Anthrax, Heaven and Hell, or Static-X appearing on the tour as they may not be on the tour.
I hope that they keep Ozzfest as an outdoor tour and keep the band list up. I just couldn t see Ozzfest being a big summer festival with only 10 bands or less on the tour.
Now, if they make it an indoor tour but still keep the same amount of bands, then that might work but Ozzfest has always been outdoors. That way you get to experience the 100+ degree temperatures on the second stage and cool down a little when the main stage acts come on and the sun goes down.
Holy shit, Lumbergh is the most clever guy I have ever seen!
You guys see what he did? Ozzfe$t ! That is so clever!
Because, you know, they make money off of it. And the tour name happens to have an s in it. That is so clever!
I wish I was able to come up with something like that, but I just lack the creativity. That is so clever! You know, because they make money and the dollar sign looks like an s !
You are so clever!
Indoors would make sense. Not filling 30,000 seat amps, fill 16,000 seat arenas.
Ozzfest shouldnt be in theaters or arenas, it should be 100% GA standing room outdoors.
like randalls island WITHOUT roping off half the place, but I didnt go to randalls because ozzfest 06 sucked I went to gigantour instead and missed basically every band i wanted to see because my girlfriend kind of got alcohol poisoning and ended up in first aid for a while, but she was better when megadeth came on, go figure.
Black Sabbath/Heaven Hell: Tony, Bill, Geezer, Ozzy +Dio?
?(if anything just think of the profit of such an event)
Heaven and Hell?
awww, dont cry aldo.
Can t really tolerate Ozzfest anymore, but if Dark Tranquillity decided to go with it, I might consider, even if it is outdoors. Since (it looks like) they ve decided not to stop in AZ for their tour with Into Eternity. ![]()
I have been to most of the ozzfest shows and even with some of the lame acts I have seen, it has always been a great show and a place to see up and coming bands.
Most of you sound like spoiled lil school girls not getting your way, as all you seem to do is moan and groan
that is soooo not true!
so does anyone know for sure what any of the bands are going to be. I think they need slipknot because they just straight up kick fuking ass.
Plus some soilwork and In flames
