During the early 60s, Duprat traveled to Europe During his studies with Stockhausen in Germany, he was classmates with a young Frank Zappa. Though he is sometimes referred to as the Brazilian George Martin for his work with Os Mutantes, his brief association with Zappa is more revealing, as both men played leading roles in the integration of electronic experimentation and classical composition with popular music, and both valued When he returned to Brazil in 1963, Duprat co-founded the M u sica Nova movement with seven other Brazilian composers, including his brother R e gis. We can t really refer to Austin s as Austin s Peter and the Wolf anymore. Seems P tW string-puller Red Hunter read some Thoreau recently, because the man has decided to forsake his home and all his worldly possessions and live the nomadic life of a traveling troubadour.
Now he is, simply, the world s Peter and the Wolf.
Hence, Lightness, the title of Peter and the Wolf s debut record, which hits stores on Halloween (October 31) via . The disc features 16 tracks addressing such topics as: nature and stuff.
Lucky for you Peter has not forsaken his guitar, a bruised and duct-taped old thing, and he s taking it to a city near you soon. We can t really refer to this as a tour launch, because from now on, life for Peter and the Wolf is one big, neverending tour. Man, that s heavy.
