Profile: I'm a huge fan of Hardstyle, Hard trance and Hardcore, but listen to a lot of other genres as well. I'm a moderator on a large Hardstyle community called Global Hardstyle Forum. If you want to contact me, you can always get a hold of me there: I probably won't sell anything rated 5/5 in my collection, so don't bother.

.. Unless you're talking about ridiculous sums of money.

Then we can negotiate. :D I also have a lot of CD Maxi's and albums of the cheesier sort. While I find most of that stuff cheesy now, I've still decided to list them in this profile (some of that stuff is actually okay!

:) ). Wow, I haven't heard a more energetic and pumping hard trance tune than this one in a long time. It's a great dark track, with stabbing kicks and a great flow.

The vocals are a tad on the cheesy side, but they fit well in the dark breakdown. Note that the track is fairly monotonous, but that doesn't bother me at all when the overall track is of such a high quality! The Original Mix is highly recommended, and so is the DJ Choose Remix!

Will definitely get the crowd moving. In my opinion, the original mix of this track was the best hardstyle track of 2006 by far. Even though I love hardstyle, it's not hard to acknowledge that the genre has a pretty simple (dare I say cheap?

) sound to it; many tracks sound like they could easily be made in simple software like FL Studio or something similar. This track though is what I would call more sophisticated hardstyle, and it proves that hardstyle music can sound well-produced. Dana has used sounds and effects wisely, creating a hard-pounding and well-sounding track that I love.

The acid-like sounds are also top-notch, and the track is very well-paced without any boring parts. The DJ Zany Remix unfortunately is flat as a pancake. It doesn't bring us anything new at all, and it doesn't have a real melody either (it throws away a promising melody in the build-up and replaces it with an annoying screetching sound!

). Talk about two polar opposites on one vinyl. The remix doesn't remove the fact that I find the A-side to be my favorite hardstyle track of 2006.

I was really shocked when I heard the original mix of "Ultrasonic." I never actually believed that Dana would change style from her previous acid-hardstyle monster tracks to a mediocre jumpstyle tune; it even lacks a proper melody! The Technoboy Remix is much better though, and starts off really good, with a catchy melody right up until after the climax, where the track starts to use the boring swooshing melody from the original mix.

I can definitely say I'm dissapointed with Dana this time around. The melody in 'Midnight' sounds pretty similar to the melody in Eurythmics' 'Sweet Dreams', but this is even more true with the Marilyn Manson cover of the track. Listen to the beginning of his track (the guitar part), and listen to the melody in 'Midnight', and you'll probably hear the similarity.

Other than that, 'Midnight' is a damn good tune despite the unoriginal melody, and has been circulating for a while on the bigger hardstyle parties (before being pressed), making the crowds go wild. I'll admit, I was a bit suspicious when I saw this release announced on the official Tracid Traxxx website. I was never really a big fan of Overdog's previous releases, and I automatically feared the worst; when labels bring in 'new' artists that don't fit well with the already-established label sound (example, Sys-X records) and ruin everything.

But after listening to this release, I can safely say I regret my early fears. The Mass In Orbit Mix is a wonderful hardtrance tune with the regular touch of 303, and is definitely the best track I've heard from him. The melody is a touch on the happy side, but the tune still manages to sound dark, much like many of the older TTX releases!

The Slideout Remix is also good, and definitely showed its presence when Kai Tracid dropped it in his Sensation Black 2006 set. Highly recommended.
