Rapper-producer Timbaland, whose real name is Tim Mosley, says he's standing by to remake Britney Spears.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the producer who crafted Sexyback for Justin Timberlake and Promiscuous for Canada's Nelly Furtado, says he's ready to help Spears be a star again.
Music producer Timbaland, pictured arriving for the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in February, says he feels Britney Spears's pain. "I feel her pain.
It really bothers me," he said. "I'm the type of person who tries to save the world. I just want to take her away, go overseas, and work [it] out.
"
Spears's image has been hurt by the scandals of her private life, including shaving her head in public, going into rehab and fighting her ex-husband over custody of their two children.
When she does get back to performing, it's going to be difficult to re-establish pop stardom amid the controversy over her personal life.
Timbaland says he consulted with Timberlake, his friend and Spears's ex-boyfriend, over the pop princess.
"I asked Justin, 'How would you feel about me working with Britney?' I had to ask him that," he said.
Timberlake was apparently willing to back up Timbaland's efforts.
"I want her to be in my camp, to be around Justin. I need Justin to talk to her. Help her, please!"
There has been no word from Spears on whether she wants to take help from either man.
