Despite initially shooting down the idea as a rumor, it now appears that Michael Jackson is in serious negations to appear on American Idol. The gloved one met with American Idol creator Simon Fuller in Las Vegas to discuss multiple options for reigniting Jackson rsquo;s career, and an appearance on American Idol was definitely amongst them?
Says who? Read on to find out.
According to Seacrest, Jackson is not only in negotiations , but everybody in the American Idol camp is seething with excitement. Seacrest told US Weekly ldquo; It would definitely make compelling television.
Jackson would not only be showing his face on American Idol, one of the most watched shows on television, he rsquo;d be doing it a mere hop skip and a jump from Neverland and the community that just recently put him on trial for child molestation. (He was acquitted, by the way.)
Would a Jacko appearance bring anything but grim fascination to the American Idol viewership? If Jackson were to botch the gig, would the stigma become an unwanted part of American Idol history? All of these questions are irrelevant of course, because the finalizing of a Jackson appearance on American Idol would be front page news and no one in their right mind would turn down that kind of publicity.
So when will we know? With the rate at which information is leaking, it seems American Idol producers could make an announcement any day. What do you think?
Should Michael Jackson appear on American Idol? Would it be good for the show? Or just plain bad?

Michael is the best of all time. He was an American Idol at age 5, not to mention a world idol shortly there after. You would see the biggest ratings in American Idol history.
There is alot of people who believe crap that they hear but his fan base is so far beyond the few negative people. Michael would do great! I can't wait to see it.
It would truly make 2007 the year to remember.
Whether we like Michael Jackson or not, we've all got to admit that man is a legend. He's shaped the pop music and music video industry.
...
For this, we just have to block out his PERSONAL LIFE ISSUES and focus on HIS GIFT AS A PERFORMER...
.
I think it would be amazing to see the King of Pop on American Idol. Love him or hate him, (I myself am a huge fan) people will tune in just to see what MJ can do now.
It would get majour ratings, guarenteed. He still has millions upon millions of fans out there, just waiting for his next move.
Come on Michael, light up the stage with your magic again.
No one has ever come close to the caliber of a performer that this man is.
I love Micheal Jackson more than anything. I belive that Micheal has the talent to do anything.
Micheal is the best ever no one can beat Micheal at his talent. Micheal is the true legend the true king of pop my only one. Micheal is my singing angel.
I love you Micheal You are my life.

Jon that last performance he did was NOT a comeback the media just kept hyping it up so much as that and second please don't call him "jacko" would it kill you to not say that at all?
He has a name ya know and its JACKSON and finally if he did appear there is no doubt he would be the biggest star they've ever had and the ratings would indeed be very big.
Jackson will cause the shows ratings to drop big time if he is on.
Like him or not, He is a legend and all of us loved him at one time (even if we're not sure now) I think it would be big for ratings.
I love the show and I'll watch if he's there or not.
i think he should be on it he is the greatest entertainer ever, the likes of justin timberlake and usher are only now doin what he started 20 years ago, he is the KING OF POP and nobody can denigh him that..

OMG I could not believe that you are questioning that if Jackson should be on American IDOL there is no doubt the answer is YES .I will be really happy to see my legend on TV with his talent MICHAEL JACKSON IS THE KING OF KING!
NO to michael jackson.
i will not watch the part that he is on. NO NO NO
I will watch with grim fascination if Michael Jackson appears on Idol. Michael has paid some high prices for his life choices, and I do think Idol would be taking a risk on his current demeanor.
No question, Jackson knows the music business. Will he handle his personal life choices appropriately to be a respected staff member of Idol? Who knows.
When Paul McCartney appears on Idol I will watch with sheer joy. What can music royalty contribute to the young people who are now exactly where Paul was in the early 1960s? Young and eager, looking for their first big exposure and first break.
I do hope that Idol will show portions of Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson coaching the participants. Any of them should revere advice from royalty. They all need coaching in marketing themselves.
Almost all need help on appearance to match their music style and body shape. Idol is a singing competition, and the singers must be marketable and appealing to the public to sell recordin
Michael Jackson is a FREAK who used to be good. He's washed up and everybody knows he did it.

.just like O.J.
