Rampway Online - Top Five Grammy Moments

I did my civic duty and watched the Grammy's on Sunday. I have to admit, it was a pretty good show. I only had to change the channel back to "The Simpsons", "Family Guy" and "American Dad" a couple of times throughout the show.

But, because I am lazy and very busy this week, I've decided to give you the top five moments of this year's . Here you go:
5. John Mayer makes the list because before the show even started he was entertaining people.

He was doing a red carpet interview with Ryan Seacrest when Seacrest asked him about Jessica Simpson. Seacrest said "I have to ask you" about Jessica Simpson, a which point Mayer boldly told him, that he didn't have to but that he wanted to. "Be a man," Mayer told Seacrest.

Yeah, that was a shot on its own, but it gets better. Seacrest asks him if he and Jess are dating and when will they announce it publicly. Mayer rambles off some gibberish which turns out to be Japanese and tells Seacrest to go find someone to translate it, which Seacrest did.

Mayer simply said, "She is very beautiful and you are the last to know." While this was an answer he could have easily given in English, I find it funny that he gave Seacrest and the E! squad some homework to do.

Granted it would have been funnier if he'd said, "She's much prettier than your boyfriend" but, I'll take what he said.
4. This was an awesome moment for this young girl.

What better way is there to come out to the world as a singer than to perform for the most talented artists in the world, with two of the most talented artists in the world. Miss Robyn Troup won the popular vote and joined J.T.

and T.I. on stage, performing "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone" and "My Love".

Being on the stage with two Grammy winners has got to be really intimidating and nerve wrecking, but Troup held her own. I don't know if a record deal is in her future or not, but at least she will have that moment to look back on for the rest of her life.
3.

I can't be too in depth on this matter because I do not listen to country music...

not even a little bit. That's not my thing. BUT I do know that the Dixie Chicks have been taking a lot of hits for their political views over the last couple of years.

Apparently, many members of the country music community do not like them at all. This stems from some comments made a while back about Texas's beloved George W. Bush and how they think he sucks (or something like that.

..).

Either way, a lot of people tried to write them off, stopped playing their music and whatnot. But he who laughs last is the one who kicked the most ass and in this case, Dixie Chicks got the last laugh. The ladies were five for five, winning all categories they were nominated for, including album of the year and record of the year.

Natalie Maines summed it up in the words of Nelson Muntz from "The Simpsons": "Ha ha!"
2. : No one has made a bigger splash in the music industry in the last year than Mary.

She's been around forever, but she has finally arrived at a place in her life where things are good and it shows in her music. Her performance was simply amazing. She took the stage and sung "Be Without You.

" Needless to say, she brought the house down. In addition to her performance, her acceptance speech was amazing. According to Yahoo!

Music, she fit in 55 names in two minutes, going on faster and faster as the music kicked in telling her to wrap it up. Of course, when she came up for her other acceptance speeches she didn't have anyone left to thank. I was never a big fan of Mary but she has really turned me around with this album.

Mary walked away with three awards including best R B album and best R B song. You go girl!
1.

: I'll start by saying I am completely biased when it comes to Christina. She is, in my eyes, the best singer of my generation. Everytime she opens her mouth, she further proves my claims.

Christina's performance was a bit of a surprise. I was unsure as to what she was singing and she wasn't announced, so when she came on after Chris Brown I wasn't even ready to hit the record button. Christina sung "It's a Man's World" in tribute to the late James Brown and completely floored me.

I have always said blues and R B are Christina's speciality, but she took it so far beyond that. She sung the shit outta that song, plain and simple. There was no one there that could have sung that better.

That performance inspired me to stop putting off buying tickets for her concert here in GA. I got online and bought two tickets to see this girl live in action. Now that's what I call a moving performance!
