"Prince Biggest Shocker of the Evening,"American Idol made my night, maybe my month! I decided to watch the finale and was well-rewarded when his , showed up near the end.
Love him! Would've been right bitchy tomorrow if I found out he was on and I hadn't watched the finale. I also enjoyed seeing Al Jarreau and Dionne Warwick with Burt Bacharach.
Mary J. Blige's performance with contestant Elliott Yamin was also worth the tune-in. I'm not a regular AI watcher.

I think of my own mother now, who is not only the matriarch of the family but who has been a spiritual force in my life and the lives of many. She is a retired school teacher now living with my father in Slidell, LA. My parents moved in with my brother and my sister-in-law following the Katrina cataclysm.
