Don Henley has told the Los Angeles Times that the Eagles new album, titled Long Road Out of Eden, will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart for the first year of release. The album, expected in two to three months, is being recorded without the group having a deal with any company, so they were free to make deals as they see fit. "This is the world we live in," Henley said.
"In the big picture, they can't be any more evil than a major record label."
Henley, who is an environmental activist, says he has been very impressed by Wal-Mart's new "green" policies, saying "..
.if you're going to change corporate America, then we have to get down in the dirt with them."
The group will be doing a summer tour, possibly the last of their career.
"We believe we've got one more world tour in us, and then that'd be about it. We might just ride off into that old sunset."

Frankie Laine, who was one of the most popular singers of the 50's, passed away on Tuesday from heart failure. He was 93.
Laine first performed professionally at the age of 15 and spent a number of years working as a singing waiter, dance instructor and small club performer.
His break came in the mid-40's when Hoagy Carmichael saw him perform his song Rockin' Chair during a club performance.
Carmichael paid for Laine's first recording session which produced the minor hit We'll Be Together. Two years later in 1947, Laine released That's My Desire which began a string of hits that lasted for the next ten years.
During that time he sold 100 million records and scored over 20 gold records.
Laine spent many years touring the cabaret circuit throughout the world with his material slowly migrating towards inspirational songs, including his 1969 Adult Contemporary hit You Gave Me a Mountain. He retired from performing in the mid-80's.
Also passing is studio manager and drummer Mike Clark. Clark was co-owner of Southern Tracks Recording Studio in Atlanta where artists from Bob Dylan to Aerosmith have recorded.
In the 50's, Clark played in a band with high school friend Tommy Roe.
Later, after Roe signed a record contract, he toured as the drummer for his band. As an in-demand studio drummer, Clark played on the Classic IV's Traces and Billy Joe Royal's Cherry Hill Park. He also produced Starbuck's Moonlight Feels Right.
