Van Morrison will be receiving an award from the Ireland Alliance on February 22nd in honor of his songs used in movie soundtracks. Al Pacino is to present. Morrison's songs have been used in numerous movies, including Bridget Jones Diary and An Officer and a Gentleman.



Morrison will also be releasing the album on February 13th.

King was released from the Galveston hospital where he was treated for the last two days for a low grade fever and flu-like symptoms. He is expected to resume his tour on Tuesday.


Tom Waits has settled a lawsuit he brought against Adam Opal AG, claiming that his personality rights had been violated.



Waits has always had a policy of not doing commercials and turned down a number of offers from the GM owned company. The company then aired commercials in Scandinavia with a sound-alike.

The settlement requires that the details be left private.

Waits says he will donate the settlement to charity.


Eric Clapton may be planning a sequel to his 2004 Crossroads Guitar Festival which benefited the Crossroads Center in Antiqua. The only clue at this point is from an Italian John McLaughlin site that lists his appearance at the Crossroads Festival with Eric Clapton on July 28th.



Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt recently purchased a residence in the French Quarter of New Orleans for a cool $3.5 million. The mansion is not just a piece of residential history, but also musical history as it was the site of Cosimo Matassa's Recording Studio where the likes of Fats Domino, Lee Dorsey, Allen Toussaint, Irma Thomas and Ernie K-Doe recorded from 1959 to 1965.



The man who allegedly stole Crystal Gayle's tour bus as captured Friday night near Daytona International Speedway. No word yet on the recovery or condition of the bus.
