Newcomer Lilly Allen was nominated for British Breakthrough Act, British Female Solo, Album of the Year for Alright Still and Single of the Year for her debut single "Smile". As the list of nominees seem endless it includes such well known acts as, Robbie Williams, The Arctic Monkeys, Snow Patrol, Muse, Razorlight and Corinne Bailey Rae.
Head of HMV in the UK, Gary Rolf commented, "With so many new faces listed, and quite a few established names absent, this has to be one of the freshest Brits lineups since the awards began over 25 years ago.
