A man who was stabbed after breaking into a mansion belonging to celebrity fitness trainer Gunnar Peterson pleaded not guilty Friday to a felony assault.
Nicholas Marino, 23, of Newport Beach, was charged with one count of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury after a Dec.

6 struggle with a private security guard inside Peterson's home.
Marino was arrested after being taken to a hospital to get treated for his injuries, police said.
Peterson and his estranged wife had obtained restraining orders that allege that Marino has been stalking her, said Lt.

Mitch McCann.
Peterson was not home at the time of the break-in. The fitness guru has trained stars including Jennifer Lopez, Nick Lachey and Matthew McConaughey.


Marino, who is free on $30,000 bail, was scheduled to return to court March 8 for a preliminary hearing, said Jane Robison, a Los Angeles county district attorney spokeswoman.
