The call for entries is open for people to submit their short film or music video to the Keokuk Independent Film Festival set for Sept. 6 to 9.
Entries will be accepted from now until June 30.
Submissions post-marked after June 30 will be accepted for review only and are not eligible for prizes.
There is a 25 per entry fee to the Keokuk Independent Film Festival. Students entry fee is 15 with proof of student status required.
Entry fees may be submitted by electronic funds transfer via PayPal, cashiers check or money order in U.S. dollars only.
Application, along with Visa or Master Card information may be sent by fax to 524-5262.
Entry fees are non refundable.
International entries must be in NTSC DVD format only and audio must be in English or have English subtitles.
All costs for shipping submission materials to and from Keokuk are the responsibility of the sender.
All entries from outside the U.S.
must be sent by registered air mail or by a parcel or express service. Entries shipped via air-freight if customs and delivery fees have not been paid cannot be accepted.
Sexually explicit materials will not be considered.
All entry submissions must include the following:
Film s and music videos on DVD (only NTSC will be excepted).
The film or music video will be submitted to us on a single DVD (NTSC) and packaged in an industry-standard 5 1/4 X 7 1/2 plastic DVD case. It must be clearly labeled with its genre, title, director and contact information including; name, contact phone number and e-mail and the exact running time in minutes and seconds.
Completed and signed film submission application form (available on Web the site). All entries submitted must include signed releases for copyrighted material (music).
Synopsis of the film-up to 50 words which will be used on the festival s program and Web site.
Bio of the film s director/producer up to 50 words (To be used in the festival s award ceremony.)
Film categories include: Native American; comedy; Sci-fi; horror; drama; documentaries; animation; Western; music videos (all genres); shorts (30 minutes or under); and music videos -(six minutes or under).
Awards include a festival grand prize trophy and 250 check awarded for K.
I.F.F s #8220Best Independent Short Film of 2007, and trophies in the following categories: People s choice Award, Best Music Video Award, Best Student Short Film and Best Student Music Video.
Film and music videos by student filmmakers will be judged separately from those submitted by professional filmmakers.
Proof of student status is required.

The short films and music videos submitted and presented in the Keokuk Independent Film Festival are individual works of independent filmmakers and have not been produced by Big Gun Productions.
The perspectives or opinions presented in the films and videos are not necessarily those of Big Gun Productions, the City of Keokuk, Main street Keokuk, The Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce, the Keokuk Area Convention Tourism Bureau, the Keokuk Cultural and Entertainment District or the Grand Theatre.
Big Gun Productions has not necessarily researched or verified any specific facts presented in the above mentioned films.
The films submitted to the Keokuk Independent Film Festival have not been rated; some films may not be appropriate for viewers younger than 18. Viewer discretion is advised.
