Idlewild definitely boast one of the best monikers in the music business amongst their number - lead singer Roddy Woomble entices you purely through the medium of first name, last name. It wouldn't matter if his name was Matt Smith, though, because 'No Emotion', Idlewild's new release, is a really, truly, fantastic rock song that more than makes up for the comparative silence from the group in recent times, only broken by the tantalising release of limited edition single 'If It Takes You Home' in December 2006.
Taken from the group's sixth album Make Another World, 'No Emotion' is a blistering, gutsy piece of music that dizzies the senses.
It symbolises everything good rock music should be and rarely is, it keeps you wanting more - it's not so far removed from the mainstream that it's not appealing to the masses, but it's definitely a harder side of pop-rock, and Idlewild haven proven their talent with this great blaster of a track.
