Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - Since the success of her new album and the birth of her son, Gwen Stefani has been working hard to get back on stage and launch her North American tour. On Tuesday, the official dates of "The Sweet Escape Tour" were announced, with San Diego scheduled as the first stop on April 22.
The platinum-blonde signer will perform 40 different shows and close her tour on June 23.
Her last concert date will take place at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in California.
Singer Akon and England's MC Lady Sovereign are expected to perform as opening acts.
Stefani, who has previously worked with Akon on her hit track "The Sweet Escape," says she is excited about putting on a "spectacular" show for her fans.
She said, "I'm excited to have this opportunity to tour with Akon and Lady Sovereign, two original artists that I have so much respect for. I can't wait to get out there. This show is going to be spectacular!
"
"The Sweet Escape Tour" is being presented by Verizon. Tickets will go on sale February 10.
