and his newly formed quartet with twice Grammy-nominated drummer Greg Bandy, pianist, Roger Friedman and early fusion period. Recent releases for Eddie include Oasis Miles Davis (2003, EPC, Sony, Columbia), Time and Spaces (2004 Greg Bandy was discovered by Charles Mingus at the of age 20. Greg Turrentine, George Benson, Yusef Lateef and many others securing his status as a living legend.
Mr. Bandy's 1997 debut CD Lightning in a Bottle garnered two Grammy nominations. He produces Bandy Does Blakey, a tribute to one of his mentors, the late Art Blakey, and reunites former members of Blakey's Jazz Messengers.
30 years. He started playing the piano by ear when he was 4 years old play the piano. In college he played the conga drums in the Ohio University Jazz Ensemble.
He transferred to Berklee College of Music pianist Ray Santisi. He continued with his percussion studies under Les Lumley, percussionist with Miles Davis and also studied the Indian tabla drums. While in Boston, he formed an electric fusion Brown) and the guitarist Michael Gregory.
David Certain's innovative bass style employing swing, funk and Latin elements is inspired by Buster Williams, Jaco Pastorius, Art Davis and Alex Blake: old school sees tomorrow. A bassist for thirty five years, he began his musical education very young, playing by ear children. David has performed with saxophonist Gary Bartz, organ master Jimmy McGriff, saxophonist and Grammy-winning arranger Willie Hancock, vocalist Paula West and many other fine musicians.
