Also on January 25th, the Back40 Records artists are staging a benefit concert to kick off the CD release in downtown Columbia at The Blue Note, starting at 8:30 pm. All proceeds from the concert will go to The Dream Factory Foundation.
Edwards, a native of the Columbia area who knows how tough it is to go after dreams, is giving local musical artists a chance at success.
To give them this chance, he started Back40 Records.
ldquo;My friends really love music and they rsquo;re amazing musicians, rdquo; Edwards said. ldquo;Everyone was sitting around and saying lsquo;we don rsquo;t really have a way to get a CD made or get signed to a label.
rsquo; So I said we rsquo;ll just go down to Dan Simon's (private and commercial lawyer) office downtown, we rsquo;ll get an LLC form and we rsquo;ll make a record. rsquo; rdquo;
Edwards credits the local community for helping him to get to where he is today, and is happy to be able to do the same for others.
ldquo;So many people have helped me so much, so many people from the community, rdquo; Edwards said.
ldquo;Those people are the reason I get to do what I love. These guys have their dreams with music and it rsquo;s something we can do for fun and they really enjoy it. rdquo;
But the fun doesn rsquo;t stop there.
Back40 Records is holding the Reach for Dreams Benefit Concert on January, 25th at downtown Columbia rsquo;s The Blue Note. The show will feature music from artists Chris Hatfield, Taylor Marie, Omega, Savage, Stevie Stone and Jonathan Truth.
ldquo;This first concert is going be a lot of fun, rdquo; Edwards said.
ldquo;The proceeds are going to go to the dream factory. We hope to have a packed house. rdquo;
Tickets are available at Ticketmaster and at The Blue Note.
