COLUMBUS, Ohio - Singer Rod Stewart has canceled his concert scheduled for Wednesday night in Columbus due to unspecified technical issues, arena officials said.
Stewart's tour decided to sacrifice Columbus so the problems could be dealt with, said Leslie Lane, marketing director for Value City Arena.
The people that are on the road with the show are having some production issues and can't just keep going with it until they figure out what's up, Lane said.
So, they're taking a day and bringing some specialists in and looking at some equipment. She had no further information on the types of technical problems.
She said ticket sales for the Columbus show were fine, declining to be more specific, and referred further questions about the cancellation to Scoop Marketing, a Los Angeles firm representing the tour.
A spokeswoman did not return a message seeking comment Tuesday.
So far, there are no plans to reschedule Stewart's Columbus stop, the arena said.
Stewart was still scheduled to perform Tuesday night in the Detroit area, and in Washington, D.
C., on Friday.
