The family's matriarch is facing surgery to repair a shattered arm, and despite their grief, family members insisted on talking to WESH 2 News on Thursday to beg the public for help in bringing the killers to justice.
"Whenever I was sad, he always says, 'It's going to be all right.' He would give me a little hug and tell me he love me.

Now when I cry, who's going to tell me that?" she said. "I don't got no other brother.

I don't understand why somebody would take my brother."
Marcus Griggs, 20, was killed in the home invasion.
"He was always the type of person that would make someone laugh," Brittany Griggs said.

His mother, Cheryl Shelly Griggs, jumped out a back bathroom window to avoid getting hit.
The window is more than 6 feet off the ground, but Shelly Griggs still jumped, breaking her arm.
She then tore across her back yard, vaulted a fence and ran to a neighbor's house, where she pounded on the door.

After she did that, help arrived.
"My brother said, 'Run! Run!

Run!' And everyone did what they could do," said Dianna Prescott.
Even though there were many people outside the home on Robbins Avenue after the shooting Wednesday night, detectives said that so far few, if any, are coming forward.

"If somebody knows what happened, please say something. Please come forward," Brittany Griggs said.
Sheriff's deputies are releasing few other clues about the shooting.

They said they are investigating the possibility that drugs were involved.
Anyone with any information about the shooting is urged to call CrimeLine at 800-423-TIPS. Information that leads to an arrest could lead to a cash reward.
