The Rock Radio: Snow Patrol leads nominees for Brit awards

Snow Patrol is nominated for Best Album, Best Single and Best Group in the 2007 Brit Awards. The complete list of nominations for the U.K.

equivalent to the Grammys was announced on Tuesday, January 16th, with the awards show scheduled for February 14th in London. Snow Patrol will compete against Muse, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys and Razorlight for Best Group.

British singer Lily Allen leads all nominations with four.



The Killers and Gnarls Barkley are strong contenders in the international categories.

Snow Patrol's latest album, Eyes Open, was the biggest selling British release of 2006, selling over one million copies in the U.K.

alone. Eyes Open has also been certified gold in the U.S.

for sales of more than half a million copies.

The massive hit single from Eyes Open, "Chasing Cars," is nominated for a Grammy this year for Best Rock Song.

Snow Patrol will begin its next North American tour on February 26th in Portland, Oregon.
