As well as musicians, there are favourites featured by novelists, poets, critics and other SPIN writers past and present such as Andy Greenwald and Chuck Klosterman.
Some bands chosen as the most memorable were, Miles Davis, The Notorious B.I.
G, Nirvana, Metric, Prince, Public Image Ltd and Led Zeppelin. The book does not only relay the concert experience but it explains the culture around what they were seeing, when it took place, who the audience was, and why it was of any importance.
The book is now available in hardback and on January 15 in paperback.
