KARACHI: The local industry does not see any impact of the oil prices reduction on the overall cost of production, and has suggested that reduction in gas prices would have had a more positive affect in this regard. If the government wants to provide any relief to the industry, particularly the export-oriented sector, then it should come up with reduction in gas prices, which is a major component in production, a number of industrialists told when Daily Times approached them to seek their views on the reduction in the oil prices. The business community said that apart from the industry, the common man is also unlikely to benefit from this price reduction, as one rupee reduction in diesel price would not create any impact, whose price contributes heavily in inflationary trend in the country.
