Hundreds of items belonging to singer Whitney Houston have been sold at auction at a warehouse in Irvington, N.J., after she failed to pay storage fees.
"I feel so badly that all her beautiful stuff is being sold off like this," said Debbie Benge, a school nurse from New Jersey who bought a red-and-gold pantsuit embroidered with musical notes for $375, the New York Daily News reported.
Benge said she would most likely re-sell the item on eBay.
"I'm a huge Whitney Houston fan," she said.
"I'll enjoy looking at it for a while, but I'll have to lose 100 pounds before I could wear it."
A white and clear plastic grand piano fetched the top price at $20,000.
The Mississippi antiques dealer who bought the piano said he would resell it.
"This piano cost $121,000 new," he said.
The co-owner of A.J.
Willner Auctions, Steve Newmark, said legal restrictions prevented him from disclosing the amount of money brought in b the auction.
