A PUB menu autographed by the Beatles when they visited Worksop unannounced in 1963 was bought by a mystery bidder for £3,120.
Before the auction at Bonhams in London, experts predicted the menu would sell for between £2,000 and £2,500.
If only three of the Beatles had signed the menu its value would have been slashed by more than a half.
The Beatles were offered a wonderful feast when they visited The Normanton Inn in 1963.
There was fried scampi and tartar sauce at eight shillings and sixpence - about 42p in modern money - or prawn cocktail at four shillings and sixpence - about 22p.
There was a choice of nine main courses, including grilled rainbow trout at thirteen shillings and sixpence - 67p - or steak, kidney and mushroom pudding at twelve shillings and sixpence - 62p.
When the Fab Four visited Worksop they were number one in the charts with She Loves You, which had already topped the charts earlier that year in September.
Then on December 12 just 12 days after their Worksop visit, the band went to number one for the third time that year with I Want To Hold Your Hand.
