14: Queen of pop Madonna had to call in the cops after two cars allegedly tried to ram her car off the road in the Big Apple. The Material Girl car chase ordeal started after her driver noticed that they were being followed by two cars, and in a bid to lose them, turned into New York’s famous Fifth Avenue. A source told British newspaper the Daily Star that what made the experience especially harrowing, was the fact that the singer has become the subject of threatening mail in the recent weeks.

"Madonna's driver noticed there were two big vehicles driving closely behind her and tried to ditch them by turning onto Fifth Avenue. He was particularly concerned as Madonna has recently been sent some disturbing mail - which has been somewhat threatening to say the least," Contactmusic quoted the source, as telling the paper. The source revealed that that’s when the two cars tried to ram the music icon’s vehicle off the road, giving her a real scare and forcing her to call 911.

"But as he turned to go along Fifth Avenue, the two following cars tried to ram Madonna's car off the road and she was forced to dial 911," the source said. A high-speed chase finally resulted in Madge’s driver losing the cars, after which the incident was reported to the cops in a “lengthy phone call”. The source also insisted that though the singer appeared to be fine after the incident, she immediately stepped up her security.

"Eventually, after a high-speed chase, her driver managed to lose them and they reported it to the police in a lengthy phone call. Madonna is carrying on as normal but she's stepped up security," the source revealed.
