\"So here\'s a story from A to Z, you wanna get with me you gotta listen carefully ...

\" Oh the deep words of the Spice Girls. But seriously, here\'s a story from Pel e to Beckham, you wanna get with Becks you have to take Forrest Gump along the way ..

. Pel e : Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pel e , is thought of as the greatest soccer player of his time. At the age of 15 he began playing for Santos Futebol Clube.

By the time he was 17, he had already won his first World Cup. He is the all-time top scorer in the history of the Brazil national team and the only soccer player to have won three World Cup titles. Pel e retired from soccer in 1977 and has been a proponent of the game ever since.

Fun fact -- Pel e was the first sports figure featured in a video game, the Atari 2600 game Pel e \'s Soccer. Since that game, the trend of athletes featured in video games has continued, as has having the athletes grace the cover the the game. However, this honor took a downward turn in 1999, the first year of the Madden Curse.

The Madden Curse: Since the first cover of Madden NFL hit the shelves, top performing NFL players have been doomed when appearing on the cover. The first athlete was Garrison Hearst, who appeared on the Madden NFL \'99 cover, and that season suffered a bad ankle break and did not return to the NFL until 2002.

Year after year the trend has continued. In 2000, Barry Sanders retired before training camp. The 2001 cover featured Eddie George, who never averaged more the 3.

4 rushes per carry after a phenomenal start to his career. In 2002, Daunte Culpepper had a season-ending knee injury. In 2003, Marshall Faulk suffered an ankle injury and never broke the 1,000 yard rushing mark for the remainder of his career.

In 2004, Vick appeared on the cover, then fractured his right fibula in a preseason game. In 2005, Ray Lewis was the first defensive player on the cover of John Madden\'s football game. That season he broke his wrist.

It was the first season Lewis did not record an interception. 2006 saw Donovan McNabb on the cover. He went down that season with a sports hernia, which required surgery.

The most recent star to appear on the cover in 2007, suffered a broken foot during the first game of the season. That football player was Shaun Alexander. Shaun Alexander: Named \"Mr.

Football\" in Kentucky while playing at Boone County High School, Alexander has now made a name for himself in the NFL. He was drafted during the 2000 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. He was named the NFL Most Valuable Player for the 2005 season, as well as the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year during that season.

He has been named to three Pro Bowls and has rushed for 96 TDs with the Seattle Seahawks, setting their record. Alexander\'s football career came to light while playing for the University of Alabama. He still holds the Alabama rushing record with 3,565 yards in four seasons.

A football player who had just as much, if not more speed than Alexander, for the Crimson Tide was Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump: Forrest Gump\'s below average IQ of 75 did not prevent him from having a fulfilling and adventurous life. His life took him from meeting Elvis Presley and learning to dance with him to playing football and meeting JFK, fighting in Vietnam, among other things.

Gump\'s good friend Lieutenant Dan becomes his first mate for Forrest\'s \"Bubba-Gump Shrimp Corporation,\" which makes Forrest Gump a wealthy man. Gump further adds to his fortue when Lieutenant Dan takes over the management of a business and Forrest busy shares in the business -- \"some kind of fruit company\". The company turns out to be Apple Computer -- which actually was founded on April 1, 1976 by Steve Wozniak, Ronald Wayne and Steve Jobs.

Steve Jobs: As a leader in the technology world, Jobs rose to fame and future as the co-founder and CEO of Apple. Along with the other Apple founders, Jobs helped popularize the idea of a personal computer in the late 1970\'s. After being pushed out by the board of directors in 1985, Jobs was brought back the Apple in 1997 when Apple bought out his new company NeXT.

Jobs net worth is currently around $4.9 billion. Jobs was also the CEO of Pixar, until it was bought by Disney.

Pixar\'s latest film was Cars, which was released on June 9, 2006. This movie is an animated film staring Owen Wilson. Owen Wilson: Nominated for an Academy Award for Writing Original Screenplay for 2002\'s The Royal Tenenbaums, Wilson has been in numerous films including Meet the Parents, Zoolander, Starsky and Hutch, Meet the Fockers, Wedding Crashers and You, Me and Dupree.

For You, Me and Dupree, Wilson brought in a reported $15 million, which is a huge increase from his first few films. In 1998, Wilson starred in the action film Armageddon with Ben Affleck. Ben Affleck: Affleck started his acting career at a young age, starring in the PBS series Voyage of the Mimi.

He broke onto the movie scene in 1993\'s Dazed and Confused. Since then he has gone on to play roles in such films as Chasing Amy, Dogma, Pearl Harbor and Hollywoodland. Affleck won an Academy Award for Best Writing for 1998\'s Good Will Hunting.

He has also succeeded in his personal life. After very public relationship with stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez, Ben settled down, got married and started a family with actress Jennifer Garner. Garner gained action fame in television\'s Alias and the big screen\'s Elektra and Daredevil, which co-starred Colin Farrell.

Colin Farrell: This Irish actor burst into the American scene in 2000 when he starred in Joel Schumacher\'s Tigerland.

He went on to be included in casts for Hart\'s War, Minority Report, Phone Booth, S.W.A.

T., The Recruit and Alexander. Personally, Farrell was married to actress Amelia Warner in 2001 but divorced four months later.

On September 12, 2003, Farrell welcomed a son, James, with then-girlfriend Kim Bordenave. Colin celebrates his own birthday on May 31. That day in 1998 a famous singer released this statement: \"Sadly I would like to confirm that I have left the Spice Girls.

This is because of differences between us. I\'m sure the group will continue to be successful and I wish them all the best ..

. PS, I\'ll be back.\" These words were spoken by Geri Halliwell of the Spice Girls.

Spice Girls: After forming in 1994 in London, the girls released their debut single \"Wannabe\" in 1996. The song came out as No. 3 on the charts before moving to No.

1 the following week. The song was a hit in 31 countries and becme the biggest selling debut single of all time. Their debut album, Spice, sold 1.

8 million copies in the first seven weeks, making them the fastest selling British act since The Beatles. Before dismantling in 2000, the Spice Girls consisted of Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell(until 1998), Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Victoria Beckham, known as Sporty Spice, Ginger Spice, Baby Spice, Scary Spice and Posh Spice, respectively. On July 4, 1999, Victoria married footballer David Beckham.

David Beckham: When Beckham\'s current contract expires on June 30, 2007, this star will join the L.A. Galaxy.

His professional career began with Manchester United, for which he made his first appearance in 1992 at age 17. In 2003, he signed with Real Madrid, becoming only the third Englishman to join the club. On January 11, 2007, Beckham agreed to one of the largest sports contracts in history, a five-year, $250 million deal.

While thought of as one of the top footballers in the world, he was named a member of Pel e \'s FIFA 100; this list is named in honor of one of the sports world\'s greatest players, Pel e .

Joe Horn (groin) appears unlikely to play Saturday. Horn has barely practiced all week.

He\'s one of the few Saints remaining from the 2000 squad that won New Orleans\' only playoff game in franchise history. Officially, he\'ll be a game-time decision. Safety Omar Stoutmire (questionable, knee) missed Thursday\'s practice, but did practice earlier this week.
