The error has since been put right on thousands of the desk diaries which are sent to corporate clients and sponsors and which also list fixtures, squad information and details on away travel.
But fans revealed yesterday some of the diaries with mistakes had slipped through the net.
Construction recruitment consultant Wayne Benton , aged 29, of Chelmsley Wood, a Blues fanatic, received one at his work at city centre recruitment company Thorn-Baker.
A spokesman for Birmingham City FC said today: "The club is fully aware that an error has been made in the official diary on just one page.
"The publishers Sportswise have acknowledged and accepted the mistake was theirs and have unreservedly apologised for any embarrassment caused.
"The problem was spotted early and no diaries were distributed by the club.
"The club is amazed that this simple error has been deemed to be worthy of front page news and cannot believe that the region is devoid of anything more newsworthy."
Aston Villa has so far preferred not to comment on the blunder.
