While the new dates are not technically make-up dates for previously cancelled shows, the band will attempt to hit many of the locations it wasn't able to perform in following drummer Matt Tong's hospitalization in November for a collapsed lung. The remainder of the band's co-headlining tour with Panic! At the Disco was cancelled at the time.
Bloc Party will kick things off March 11 in Seattle, with 12 cities currently on the itinerary, including a March 15 appearance at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX. The group will have a new album to back on the March dates. Set for a Feb.
6 release, "A Weekend in the City" follows Bloc Party's 2005 full-length debut, "Silent Alarm." The first single from the new album, "The Prayer," hit radio stations in December. The video for the song can be viewed at Bloc Party's official .
