May 30th, 2005 at 8:35 am And I quote Buddy Guy. Since my iPod fascination, I ve been learning too many songs. Yesterday, I extracted songs from the iPod of a certified harmonica-playing bluesman (with his generous advice of course).
I m held captive by the complicated riffs and soul of this magnetic blues ensemble that commences with Jimmy Thackery, then Minnie Ripperton, Kenny Neal, BB King then Ike Tina Turner, with Tina belting her sorrows during that rocky phase of her marriage. She sounded really good. (I m thinking, should I have more tragedy in my life in order to sing better?
NOT! Quit my day job now that s a tragedy!) Seriously, blues stuff may seem like all the songs sound alike but they don t.
You just have to really digest every single note.
I also love the lesser-known reggae devils from this recent download such as Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs. Mich, Bob Marley is not the Ja of reggae mysticism.
LKJ is =)
Has anybody heard a blues band here in the local scene, with a girl in the lead? I want to know, so I can start rockin too. With an 8-9, 6 days a week job to pursue when did singing again enter my realm?
