CELEBRITY socialite Paris Hilton was back in the headlines after a catfight with a former beauty queen at a Hollywood nightclub, police and reports have said.
The party-loving blonde heiress lodged a report at Hollywood police station following the spat at an exclusive Sunset Boulevard club in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Los Angeles Police Department officer Sandra Escalante confirmed Hilton had made a statement claiming battery but did not identify the other woman involved in the alleged fisticuffs.
Celebrity news website reported that the other woman was former Miss USA, Shanna Moakler, who is alleged to have verbally abused and punched Hilton.
Press Association reported today Paris Hilton filed a police report, alleging she was hit in the face by Shanna Moakler - the estranged wife of Travis Barker, who Paris was caught kissing in a club recently.
The socialite is accusing the former model of coming up to her in Hollywood club Hyde and screaming abuse at her, before punching her on the head.
Moakler also filed a report the same night, saying that Paris's ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos - who was at the same club with his former girlfriend - poured a drink over her head, before shoving her down some stairs.
Reports claim Shanna was furious over the paparazzi photos that caught her husband and Paris in a clinch.
According to sources, she has also left menacing messages on the It Girl's answer machine.
Paris's spokesman, Elliott Mintz, told TMZ.com: I would encourage Paris, with the consent of her attorney, to seek a restraining order against Moakler to prevent any escalation of this irrational and dangerous behaviour.
Hilton has been recently photographed while out on the town with Moakler's estranged husband Travis Barker of rock band Blink 182.
It was the second time in less than a month that Hilton has had a brush with the law.
On September 7, she was arrested and charged with drink-driving after being stopped by traffic police in Hollywood.
Hilton faces a court hearing on December 5.
I'm glad someone finally gave it to Paris. She is so overated, she bores me to tears. The only thing good about her is reading about all the bad stuff that happens to her.
Thank goodness there are people in this world who doesn't mind a bit of fisty cups to high profile maneaters.
