After much speculation, Jermaine Dupri has exited his Urban Music President post at Virgin Records. "Since there are so many rumors running rampant about my position at Virgin Records, I feel that it is necessary to set the record straight," Dupri told the Hollywood Reporter. "I was not forced out of the company, I made a decision that it was in my best interest to leave.

Columbia Records National Director/Top 40 Amanda Walk is now National Director/Rock formats on the west coast for the label. She replaces Risa Matsuki who exits the label. Chris Wheat is named VP/Market Manager of Entercom's Norfolk,VA cluster.

WXRT/Chicago announces it is consolidating all of its Web and streaming efforts into a New Media Department, headed by station promotional and marketing vet Tom Lisack. This will include WXRT's Web site, two audio streams, streaming video, listener data base, VIPmail, e-commerce, and -- soon -- text messaging.
XM and independent film distributor BSide Entertainment will team up to launch the music industry documentary Before The Music Dies.
The film features interviews with Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews, Eric Clapton and many others on the current state of the music business.
