by @ 4:22 pm. Filed under , We know that when Adam was in the garden of Eden he was commanded to multiply and replenish the earth. The Lord now tells us to multiply and replenish the earth that ye may have joy and rejoicing in your posterity.

I now know what the Lord is talking about (at least partly), when he talks about joy and rejoicing in your posterity.
Austin is a joy. He s a little Angel.

I don t really know how to express in words the things I feel about him. The past few weeks he has become even more well behaved. He s become even more obedient, even more happy and joyous than he has been his whole life.

He loves me, he respects me, and he knows I m his Dad. I love spending as much time with him as I possibly can because he just brings joy into my life. It s sooooo wonderful .

and he s only 2! I would imagine that as he continues to grow he ll become even more fun for me.
Last night I was thinking about what a joy he is and some of the things he does.

When he gets in trouble now all I have to do to him is tell him that he s in trouble and he immediatly stops what he s doing and says sorry dad. He knows that he needs to behave himself and he s happy to do it. He wants my approval and he s not happy when I m not happy with him.

I think our heavenly father wants us to feel the same way about him (that s why he gave us a conscience).
A few months ago Kim taught him to say Lovey Dovey because she said that he was her lovey dovey. He associated it with being HER lovey dovey, and not my lovey dovey.

When I d ask him if he was my lovey dovey, he d say No. Mommy s dubby dubby. It was very funny.

I tried to teach him that he was moms lovey dovey and my lover dover, but he didn t want very much to do with it.
Now, I m trying to teach him that he s my Little Angel , because that s how I feel about him. He was sent to us from God to bring joy to our lives and he s doing a dang good job of it.

I can t wait to have another kid.

by @ 5:04 pm. Filed under This morning I had dropped my car off to get a tune up and was waiting for someone to come pick me up.

They were a little late so I whipped out my Sony UX-50 to see what the weather was going to be like the next few days (I want to golf tomorrow although I m not sure it s going to happen).
After dialing up through my t-mobile phone, I struggled with the weather.com website for about 5 minutes and couldn t get it to tell me weather for my zip code.

Finally, frustrated with it all and knowing they d be there soon to pick me up, I decided to try Google.
Duh. I should have known to just try google in the first place.

by @ 11:27 pm. Filed under , A few months ago I got banned from using the Overture because I had written a script that would query it automatically for me.
Being banned from the tool was somewhat of a pain in the butt because I couldn t just pull it up any time I wanted to check search amounts.

It didn t stop me from doing it as I just wrote another tool that I could stick on a server somewhere (a different ip address, that s what overture banned) and have it query overture and give me the search amounts.
However, I didn t like being banned from it so months ago I sent them an email asking them to unban me and I promised I d never do again what I had been doing.
They said no.

Just today I randomly checked the tool again and I HAVE BEEN UN-BANNED!!!

I don t know why, maybe it was just the people at overture feeling the need to repent of their evil ways and have mercy on poor peons like me. Or maybe they just made me sit out a predetermined amount of time and are now letting me have a chance again.
Either way, I m happy to be able to use it again.

by @ 11:49 am. Filed under , , I believe Yahoo is finally going to come up with their own version of Google s Adsense.
I think this will be sooo good for publishers like me.

It will force Google and other companies who serve ads to pay their publishers more to compete for ad space on publishers pages. If they don t, publishers will just switch to the other company who is paying more. It should put the power back into the hands of the publishers.

by @ 10:38 am. Filed under This is fascinating research on how people view webpages.
I don t know how they do the research but I m glad they re doing it so I can more effectively design my pages to make more money.

They have such accurate results that they can tell you people s eye patterns across pages and for how long their eye rested on that part of the page. It s really amazing.

Filed under Last night I went to a Utah Grizzleys hockey game. They re the NHL affilliate team for the Dallas Start I think, so it s almost pro hockey which I was really excited about since the NHL isn t having a season this year.
Boy, was I disappointed.

They STINK!!!

Seriously, the Grizzleys are terrible. It s not that it s not high quality, almost pro hockey. It s that the Grizzley team is bad.

They played the Minnesota Mighty Ducks (obviously the affiliate team of the anaheim mighty ducks) and just got the crap kicked out of them. The ducks were good (even though the Grizzleys won the game) and because of them you could tell that these were professional teams. However, if it weren t for the ducks, I wouldn t have though they were professional.

The Grizzleys just did dumb things that a team at that level shouldn t do. Their passes were NEVER stick to stick, they passed the puck in the air to each other for NO reason whatsoever, they turned the puck over in really bad circumstances, they made poor decisions with the puck It was almost painful to watch them play because the Ducks were sooo much better.
What s worse is how the organization was run.

The E-Center, where they play their games is a nice arena (somewhat small but none the less, nice) but they re stupid there. Tickets were $20!!

! I will never go back to see them play until they lower the price. Less than half the seats were filled and I m sure they wonder why!

This is Utah for one, people are cheap. Second, they SUCK! If they lowered their prices, they d get more people in.

Also, I believe the team could do a much better job of marketing themselves. I ve known about them for years but didn t really know they were semi-pro.
Also, the E-Center is poorly run.

During intermission and before the game they turned off all the lights in the arena and just had like a disco ball and some spotlights going so you couldn t really see what was going on. They brought out a dance troop and just had some dim lights on them while they danced so you couldn t even see them. STUPID.

When I went into the bathroom they had some obnoxious techno music playing along with the commentary about the game. Because of the techno, you could hardly hear the radio. Because of the radio, you couldn t enjoy (not that I would have anyway) the music.

Overall, the game was fun because hockey is fun to watch, but I won t go back to another game until something there changes.
